Description
Damar Batu (Fossilized Resin)
Damar is a well-known non-timber forest product — a natural sap rich in polysaccharides, produced by certain forest trees, especially from the Dipterocarpaceae family such as Hopea, Vatica, Dryobalanops, and Agathis. It is widely used in industries for making lacquer, boat sealants, and especially as insulation for submarine and underground cables.
Damar Batu, or resin stone, is a fossilized form of damar sap that has hardened naturally underground over time. It typically appears yellowish, but can also be found in shades of brown, white, or golden. Compared to copal or fresh resin, Damar Batu is much harder and denser. It is used in the production of matches (as a slow-burning agent), plastics, varnishes, and other chemical products.
We offer several grades of Damar Batu:
-
Damar Bombai
-
Damar Kalkata
-
Damar Dust
